THE POLISH ARMY IN BRITAIN, 1940-1947 (HU 128264) Richard Tice was an American citizen who volunteered to serve with the Poles. He was later commissioned to the rank of Second Lieutenant, served with the 3rd Battalion of the Brigade as a platoon commander and was killed in action on 22 September 1944 at Driel during the Operation Market Garden.
